Drama abounds in this 465-square-foot family-room-turned kitchen in Villanova, Pa. Above, a soaring vaulted ceiling, refinished with reclaimed barn wood, and an original ceiling buttress impart architectural excitement and visual warmth, while below, cream-colored custom cabinets and a Francois & Co. hood are contrasted with an oversized island in rich mahogany and a steely blue Bluestar range. A custom Demetrio Pizza Oven, surrounded by reclaimed bricks and place atop a concrete boulder-like counter, serves as a focal point.
