The Delancey Street Project
The conversion of an old ballroom into this 240-square-foot kitchen in Philadelphia required extensive rehabilitation of the original ceiling. To preserve its beauty, the space is illuminated with indirect fixtures mounted atop the cabinets, as well as undercabinet lighting and an oversized pendant. Other highlights of the design include a rolling ladder to access upper storage, a 4-inch-deep cabinet that camouflages a working chimney, Absolute Black countertops for dramatic contrast, and a suite of pro-style appliances by Sub-Zero and Wolf.
